K, I’m weird but I think it is a bit unusual that when this lady, who apparently is a speaker at many LDS Singles events, and on many, many television shows, lists her credentials:

She doesn’t say anything about her marriage/family – obviously too much private info would be dangerous or risky to list, but she doesn’t even list how long she has been married.

If the real goal of dating is finding the right person and eventually marriage (which it is in my opinion) and she is an expert on dating, then I think that is a little weird.

K, This Sunday I went to a LDS Singles (31+) Fireside in American Fork, Utah

The speaker was Elder Merrill Bateman and his talk was great.

A couple o’ things about these firesides are funny in my opinion:

One is the refreshments are usually the same (but if it aint broke don’t fix it). K, ya gots yer ‘healthy’ refreshments first on the table cuz you ‘posed to be filling up on ‘em and not eating too many cookies. K, Yer healthy refreshments are Ranch Dressing (gotta be Ranch!) and then yer broccoli and yer baby carrots (why not old geezer carrots or at at least 31+ carrots wouldn’t that make more sense!) maybe some celery and maybe some cauliflower. Then you got yer Costco cookies usually Macadamia Nut (YES!) maybe some snickerdoodles, maybe some oatmeal raisin (also ‘healthy). Then at the end ya got yer ice water.

Then you got yer mingling circle chair areas usually 2 or three in the cultural hall but usually their aint much a-mingling going on.

The last few Dees Dances (commercial LDS Standards dances) I have been to:

Have been very crowded and more women than men which for Utah is very unusual. So it’s been a mad rush to ask someone to dance and get out there before they are all taken. –Help!

A Single LDS (Mormon) Man… Over the magic 45 years old (in the huge catch-all group of ages 46-120 yrs old) … Barely Alive… His Mission, If He Chooses to Accept It, to find with the help of LDS Singles Activities (for the old codgers) …a celestial companion …this blog will self-destruct when he gets married.

LDS Singles Blog was started as a an attempt to find the humor in the above pursuit. Yes there are a bunch of LDS Singles web sites, yes there are a bunch of LDS Singles activites web sites, I even have one http://LDSSinglesFUN.com, but this web site, as far as I know is like no other. Why because I will be going to the LDS Singles Activities reporting about them taking a fuzzy camera photo (so no one gets upset that their photo is on my web site) and hopefully let you know which activities are the best since we all have limited time to attend them.

I will try to remain impartial in my reviews of LDS Singles Activities, and I will try to remember that it is no easy task to come up with ideas for activities but obviously some are good and some are not so good – often it depends on if you find someone interesting or enjoyable to talk with – or if you try to be friendly and assertive to help someone ELSE have a good time at the activities.

I will be trying to go to at least one activity per week – wish me luck
